Best to fit complete 1098 engine + gearbox - it's a straight swop. The final drive on a 1098 car would be 4.22 - yours will be a 4.55 - so you may want to change that too, and in fact should consider going up to a 3.9 ratio - or even a 3.7 IF you are going to upgrade the 1098 to give a bit more power. the speedo will then also need swapping to match whichever final drive ratio you settle on. And of course - the 1098 cars have larger 8" diameter front brakes - for good reason!

if you're planning to warm up the 1098 - or even if you're not, then a brake upgrade can really improve the drivability.

If you have the original 7" brakes, then 8" would be a good upgrade but by no means is this where you should limit your sights.
9" drums are harder to find but are much better or iof you can find a 2nd hand set - or have the money for new, then a disk brake kit is where you should be aiming.

Basically if the car already has 8" front drums, then you do have the option of leaving them alone, but if you need to change then why not aim high?
