Door window quaterlight rubbers

I need to replace the rubber around my drivers door quaterlight but have no idea where to start.
Could really do with a step by step on this please

Hello Rob, Just had mine done professionally by ESM, costly but worth it to me as I also would not know where to begin. I believe that the door cards have to be removed, this exposes the bolts that hold the quarter lights.
Somebody should be able to give you a step by step guide.

I replaced both quarterlights, using new rubber, a few weeks ago on the wife's tourer...following instructions in the Haynes restoration manual.
Remove the 2 cross head screws which are on the top edge of the frame opposite the top Q/light hinge.
The top hinge the pulls out along with the rubber.....allowing the bottom swivel to lift off
The rubber can be "peeled" off the top hinge. then all the rubber pulled out.
Re-fitting the new rubber is a matter of easing it carefully into place, using a screwdriver or similar, careful not to scratch the paint.
I found that it required a lot of physical effort to get the rubber in...some washing up liquid may help.
No need to remove the door cards at all. Be careful that you don't drop the Q/light when taking it out.

A good reply but please dont use washing up liquid
It contains lots of salt and will seriously rot any unprotected metal.
Use waxoyl as a lubricant and it also protects the metal!!

I had waxoyled the channels after cleaning them

Well that went rather well.
Removed the 2 screws outside edge of frame as suggested and prised everything out, used some car shampoo to lube it up and 20 minutes later I'm all done.

did you manage to get a good seal on the upright bit, the straight rubber fittied to the window channel?
mines awfull, new rubber apears to be far to thin and flimsy to create any seal

I managed a good seal on the outside yes and yes it is a little flimsy
