One improvement I can see would be a plain washer under the spring one, this would avoid it pulling into the bracket slot.

Look for "cable adjuster" on ebay

This message board is like a family - you can't choose the other members!! But remember engine oil is thicker than water.
Re: pik for mmjosh
Another option might be a throttle cable from a small motorcycle. The length may need adjusting but they work well, don't cost a lot and have an adjuster.

Re: pik for mmjosh
lots of places sell similar. They are branded as cable adjuster bolts for bicycle brakes.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
Re: pik for mmjosh
That choke cable is horribly frayed! And the accelerator inner cable is rubbing badly on the custom bolt - it will soon fray too! bend the bracket down slightly so it has a straight pull. But good solution to the problem!

Re: pik for mmjosh
A hollow headset/stem bolt from a BMX would do the job too ;) They're used to route the front brake cable down through the inside of the headset and used in conjunction with a gyro to allow tangle free handle bar spinning
Pros tend to just run a really long cables instead though as it's a lot less hassle. That's the bolt that'll do the job though

Re: pik for mmjosh
Re; the bike brake cable. Do be sure that the outer cable is of sufficient diameter so that it stays firmly against the stop on the bulkhead boss. I used a bike cable too and it was fine for a while but a little undersized and the metal outer started to draw in leaving a wrinked plastic sheath. All this wasn't visible. The clue was the increasing lack of throttle response.I had to root around for a sutable sized cable end cap to cure the problem.
