Hello there

I wonder whether anyone can shed any light on something that has been bugging me lately. I recall that in 1974, as a teenager I read in a motor magazine about a Morris Minor that had been built, brand new from parts for a customer. It was built by a main dealer - I seem to remember it was Stewart & Ardern in the Midlands. I happen to recall tat the registration number was either GHR 800N or GHA 800N. Does anyone recall this car and, if so, know what became of it. Will it have been the last ever Minor to be built? Thanks! Chris

I can confirm that S&A did build a Minor for an elderly customer. From stock parts, the car was built in the showroom so that progress could be followed. Exact details are about on the web somewhere.

Hi Chris, welcome to the messageboard. GHR 800N is the last Minor to be built and is currently in a museum. It attended the club's national rally at Stamford Hall in 2008 and there's a photo of it in this thread: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f= ... hilit=1974

Many thanks Barrie and Louise - I was afraid that the memory of a 54 year old could be playing tricks! However, am I right in recalling that this car was orginally white?

I think there was another one too......... Both cars would not of course qualify for free road tax now........

GHR 800N was a "guest visitor" at the 60th celebrations at Stamford Hall.

Didn't East (or West) Sussex Minors have a go at producing a bodyshell about 10 years ago? I vaguely remember picking up a leaflet at a National in the distant past.
