Hi all just seen this mog on eBay (item number 250695044427) how in the world did this pass an mot ?!!!

must be the same guy who mot'd a car my gf buaght, the rear brake pins had seized, the rear shocks were leaking and the nuts and bolts holding the front wishbones on were all loose! im all for abit of interpretation of the mot standards when it comes to older cars when it comes to silly things like play in the wheel bearings when theres bound ot be more in a 50 year old design than a 5 year old one, but things like that are just dangerous.

The funny thing is the percieved value placed on this vehicle, there is no way he will have any bids on this at its current price.
Infact some of the comments felt the £2,225 start price was a typo.

i believe the phrase is "wishful thinking". the mot bloke must of not know the wood is structural and/or be a monkey.

Since the modern computerised MOT there is no section or code to fail a car on structural woodwork. So, the MOT man was in all likelyhood right to pass the car as a traveller cannot fail on woodwork any more.

Having said that, the price is very optimistic and as said on the comments, bidding should start at £225 not £2250.

Explains the price, he hasn't realised that money put into old cars doesn't always increase their value.

How many cars of what make and model could possibly fail on structural woodwork?
One by my reckoning, so hardly a major omission from the MOT software.

Although the woodwork is in poor shape in places who can say how badly the structure is compromised?

That's a shame if the valuation was more realistic I may have been swayed to add another F reg PUD to the fold. Looks like this one was registered about 300 cars after mine......
