Hi what does the engine number tell you about your engine. Sorry if this has been asked before, I did search but couldn't find anything.

The engine in my minor is a 1275 and the number on the block is 12VEH442895.

Thanks.

Where did you look to find this info is there a web site or a book??

Thanks for your help,

Hi - I'm to try to identify an engine described during a telephone conversation as having - MDWOE 950 - stamped / marked on the engine. The lady concerned suggested that it has been sitting in her garage for over 15 years.

Have trawled through the list and still can't work out what these numbers relate to.

Anyone got any ideas?? - Help!! :(

Could she be mis-reading the letters? Maybe it is "MOWOG 950" on the block, in that case it would be a 948cc engine.

I might be way off but it is the only thing I can think off right now

You could well be right.

I think the lady who described it is in her senior years and was relaying to me what her son had told her.

Chinese whispers - would explain it though.

If anyone is after a reconditioned ( 15 years ago ) 948 engine complete with back plate, Dynamo?, Clutch and exhaust manifold I can put you in touch but I would want to ask her for her permission first.

It was her late husbands unfinished project so she would like it to be used rather than scrapped.
