Purely a thought i had the other day...
Does the engine from the series MO Oxford not fit in a minor? Id have thought the power gain would be significant without losing that side valve look.
I am sure there are a million problems with it, but hey, as per the title!

Might be better to get a Ford 100E engine in there? Almost identical but there are more tuning options.

The MO engine is quite a large unit, especially with the gearbox and only delivers 44BHP from a 1476cc engine. I doubt if it would fit without extending the front of the car.
If you want an interesting conversion how about fitting a Wolseley UPHW engine as was originally intended before the 803 engine got in the way?

I tried to buy one of those about 10 years ago. Not easy to find any Wolseley 8s in useable condition.

Yes and no chance!
There would be a fair amount of work as the carb and exhaust are on the opposite side and the SU carb is downdraft. The top hose outlet is vertical.
At least one was produced in the factory, it is a pity there are no photos. I don't suppose that Gaydon has any in its archives

Ray, At least two prototypes were made from high light saloon series MMs in 1951.
There is a picture of the engine bay and a write up on the prototypes in Morris Minor The World's Supreme Small Car by Paul Skilleter...page 75

I had forgotten about that chapter, it is a pity that they did not show more of the engine.
Lady Nuffield's Wolseley 8 was kept at Nuffield Place which I believe has been sold, so I wonder where the car is?
