Hi all,

slowly going through the list of things i need to ask questions about, so i can get on and resolve them over the winter. Our new Moggy Ivy's bonnet appears to be a bit wonky. Hopefully the pics below highlight what i mean. the right hand side seems to be sitting higher than the left. This is seen by the raised moulding being higher than that on the door, and also there is a small gap above the grille...





what would be the best way to go about rectifying this??

When you shut the bonnet push down at both sides with the palms of your hands - It will soon sit flush

Really that easy?? I'm sure I've tried that already. It definitely has a two stage shut. I.e the catch catches then a firmer push secures it... Not sure there is anymore play...
The only other thing I can think of is either somehow the bonnet is twisted, or maybe something to do with the hinges.... Am I on the right lines??

As it's not sitting down properly at the hinge - yes there is a twist somewhere - or the hinge is set too high on the windscreen panel - which would need investigating. Correct way to shut the bonnet is to simply 'drop' it - after releasing the check arm. No 'pushing down' required.

I had a similar problem but mine was more bad gaps, I removed to spray and on re-fitting it sits much better now.

Production tolerances! Strange, it is normally the left side of the bonnet that is higher than the right.
I spoke to a chap at the Cowley Motor Show whose job it was at the factory to go around with a big piece of wood and bend the panels into shape. Maybe he was on holiday when yours went down the production line.

You mean the left side of the bonnet as viewed from the drivers seat?
