Throttle and choke cables- utterly confused!

Hi

I swapped the engine in my Minor (same size, standard engine) and now can't work out how to reconnect and set up the choke and accelerator cables to the carb!
The engine starts but immediately accelerates and roars until it has to be switched off quick. Obviously the cables are wrong but I have no idea how to put them right and get it running properly again.

I see the choke is pulled fully on in that picture..... Disconnect it and try again.

Unless the choke was pulled out when you took the picture, you barely have enough inner cable.
At a push, you can undo the cable, pull the inner out enough to let you hacksaw off a quarter of an inch ( 1 CM?) from the outer cable.

The accelerator cable, the black one should be connected to the accelerator pedal and should open the butterfly valve fully when the pedal is pushed to the floor, and the valve should be fully closed when the pedal is released, with a very small amount of slack in the cable. It looks as though you need a new cable as the inner cable looks too short.
When the engine is hot and the accelerator cable fitted correctly the tickover speed can be adjusted by turning the small screw with the spring around it.
The clamp at the end of the choke cable should be in the fully down position when the choke knob is pushed in and there should be a little slack in the cable.
The other screw with the spring on it should be adjusted so that it is just touching the cam. When the choke is pulled out it turns the cam which lifts the screw and opens the throttle to increase the tickover speed whilst the engine is on choke.
To get the choke to stay out the cable should be twisted when clamped
