Hi all
I took the radiator off my traveller to flush everything out.Plenty of muck inside. The reason I thought I would do this is it appears the radiator is getting hot at the top but still cool lower down. Does anyone know why this happens
Many thanks Dave

Sounds perfectly normal to me.
Its called convection currents, hot water rises in the engine then cools and sinks in the rad. If it did not then you would have problems

This could also mean that the rad is blocked up, is it still completely cold even after a longish run or is some water getting through?

It's hardly 'convection'! The water is pushed round by the pump - enters at the top hot from the engine and cools as it descends through the matrix. Worry about it if it's hot at top AND bottom!
