I'm renewing the brakes on my current restoration project 1959 1000 and there is a brake spring that stops sideways movement which i'm having great difficult fitting. Is there any method to fit these, or should i just save myself some hassle and leave them off? Cheers

If it's the little bee-hive springs - throw them away!

Agreed they are not required, but if you really want to fit them a good strong pair of pointy nosed pliers and a bit of patience should get them on.

Push, twist and release and hopefully they will fit, otherwise forget about them

As they have all said as above-but if you feel you must fit them, all the contact surfaces must be bright metal with a smidgen of coppa grease,nn pliers, push in-twist left or right- and when the dogs line up correctly , release---Naaa leave em off
