There is a sticky towards the top of " Bodywork " posted by Louise . YL1 crossreferences to ICI 3487 .

Hope you can get that .

Hi I got the cross reference from ICI but it doesn´t show on the computers in Malaga, Spain. They are trying to mix the paint colour themselves due to they are unable to find these colour codes here.

Is there a way to find out the quantities involved to mix?

Or where could I buy the paint at a decent price and get it shipped over?

Someone mentioned a place in Liverpool, does anyone know?

Thanks for advice

Cheers

Thanks 4 pic

Car looks fab! What colour code did you use or where did you buy the paint as I have difficulty here in Spain getting the right colour. Also would they be able to ship the paint over here?

Or could they give me the paint measures so I can get the guys who are doing the respray the quantities so they can mix the right colour here?

Cheers

Hi,

The paint I used was mixed at a UK Unipart parts garage and the colour code is YL1. As Unipart hold the codes for most cars they just mixed it up for me, it's a celilose base that can be brushed on when thinned out correctly.

Not sure where I'd go now, as that was 7 years ago, but it does need a re-spray mainly thanks to a Ford Mondeo.

Hope that helps.
Peter.

Linda ,
YL1 apparently was used on some MG cars . Don't know howe I got to it but there is a link to Nexa Autocolur who have a web page in Spanish .

Good luck ,
