I've searched and searched the website, but can't find the location of the service schedule spreadsheet that certainly was available. I may just be stupid, but does anyone else know where it is - if so can you give me the URL?
Thanks.

There should be some mention of service schedules in any manual you have.
Spreadsheets less so, but feel free to create one and share it.

There used to be an Excel spreadsheet available to download online - a sort of tick list showing the level of servicing required at different mileages. I really cannot find it!

Since classic cars tend to be used less than was normal when they were new - just change oil and filter, and check gearbox and back axle levels every 3000 miles - and reset points/plugs and valve gaps at the same time. Then - grease all the nipples and adjust up the brakes, and have a nice cup of tea. If you don't do 3000 miles in the year...... Just do all the above before the annual MOT. Simples !

Ha, I've done over 15,000 miles in my car over the last year alone! - near 30,000 in the past 2 years!

Well done Mr Watson! Then you definitely should follow the 3000 miles routine.

If a car only does a few hundred miles a year, how often should the oils be changed? Does the oil degrade and does the filter element go off? (swell up or something?)

Where is "over here?" it doesn't say on your profile.
20/50 is ideal, at a push you want the first number to be higher 15/30 rather than 5/30.

20/50 is hard to find here in Alberta. I'm gonna try 15W40 when I get the car all back together. Works for diesels, so I figger it should work OK in an MM.

I'd second BMC's 3000 mile service schedule, but if you don't reach that, then do it once every 6 months. Oil does degrade over time. Look at it this way-oil & filters are cheap and easy to replace, engines are not.
Now for another question-where's the reply button gone? I can only see the quote button!

Oil etc doesn't 'deteriorate' if not being used (it's millions of years old to start with.......) - but an annual change is not a bad idea if you are nervous. I do mine every 3 years whether it needs it or not........

Quite right, it's dinosaur juice.
Also the people who wrote the workshop manual all those years ago didn't know what advances would be in oil technology, or that a time would come when the cars weren't used almost every day.
Being dinosaur juice, the supply is finite as there is a terrible lack of dinosaurs these days
