Hardi fuel pump spares

Post by edjones »

As the title suggests, I currently have a Hardi pump on my Minor. It has been faultless for 15 years, though the points are now nearly worn down to nothing.

Does anyone know if the points are replacable, and if so, where I might get some new ones from?

For info, I'm currently in the middle of rebuilding an SU pump to fit to the car but would like to keep the Hardi as a spare.

Thanks!

Ed,
Here's the link to Hardi.
http://www.hardi.de/indexe.htm.
Just send a mail to Dr.Richard Schröter. I have the Hardi pump for 3 years and have had no problems with it. It's a common replacement here and has a good reputation although many in the UK had problems. There may have been a bad batch or perhaps there were Chineese copies on the market. I contacted Dr Richard Schröter about this about two years ago and he replied very nicely stating the he was not aware about quality issues. The only thing about them is they are noisy-easily cured by fitting in an anti-vibration mount.[frame]Image[/frame]

Looks like a dead copy of an SU - so perhaps SU points will fit?

Many thanks for that info Declan, I shall send an enquiry.

As far as the SU points idea, definitely worth a look. I've got some old point somewhere so will pull the cap and see. They did look very similar during a very brief inspection!

Noisy, is how I would have described the electronic pump that was fitted to my car when I got it.
I'll have to see if it's a Hardi, or the Lucky dragon pump corporations product.
