replacement seat belts

My minor currently has static seat belts fitted at the front.
Is it possible to fit modern inertia seat belts from another car?
If so, what car is it best to get them from?
I saw new ones for sale specifically for a minor for £37 + vat, but thought that this was a bit steep.
Cheers,
John

Hi John there are 2 types of inertia, one for the 4 door and Traveller and one for the 2 door and convertible, from Bull Motif the 4 door version is £25:00 and the 2 door is £29:00 approx, if the price you were quoted did not state for which car it was for it will be the cheaper one, what type of car do you have and who quoted you, and its not a good idea to use some from another car as the angles ect for the inertia mechanism has to be right.

Thanks very much for that.
I have a 2 door.
The price I got was from DSN:

I had no end of problems using the wrong ones in a 2 door.
The bases need to be at an angle, but then the pendulum is at an angle so it doesn't work. Then tried them straight up which worked but the belt didn't spring back as it was out of line (MOT failure).
It's a good job I prefer static ones! Although the correct ones will probably be fine!
Good luck!

The problem I find is that they always seem a bit short on adjustment and its not as if I am particularly tall or large just average middle age size

Some are better than others - maybe some were for 4 doors? I've had some where there was room far nearly 2 people, and others that I could barely do up (but I'm an 'over average' 15 stone..)

I have the ones from Bull Motif £42 ish I think maybe plus VAT & delivery. Work really weel though & have saved me more than that's worth in my girlfriend moaning about the old ones..... (Ray has them now though so you can see they expect different things from a belt...)
