Can anyone ID this fuel tank?

Post by dave_t »

I have a 53 split screen saloon which a previous owner has put a Marina engine in and changed various things, one of which is the fuel tank. It was bolted to the back of rear seat area in the boot rather than sitting in the boot floor.

If anyone can ID this tank it would be very helpful, it's longer than the hole in the boot floor and the fuel cap in the picture may or may not match the tank.

Cheers, Dave.

Looks quite like the tank I used in my Riley Elf Rally car - I too had it fitted across the rear seat back inside the boot. It was from an Austin A60 Farina. But I suppose logically - your's is likely to be the Marina tank if that's where the other bits came from!

Looks a bit like a Jaguar Series 1 / 2 / 3 tank - The ones that fitted lengthways inside the rear wings....

Marina was my logical guess too, but I can't find a picture of one anywhere online. There are no markings or numbers on the tank either.
