The National moves around the country, and it was held at Stamford Hall in 2008. At the branch liaison meeting in March we were advised that 2011 will be 'south', 2012 probably Midlands and 2013 probably Oxford to celebrate 100 years of Morris motors (details in the members area under 'responses'). I'm sure that as soon as a venue has been booked we'll hear about it here so no need to panic just yet Dennis!

Don't mind if it is north or south as long as the weather is good.
Rather than north / south, how about east, west?
Have Minor, will travel.

Well I'm not sure that "the Minor fairy" is the best way to describe Andrew Stone (national rally organiser) if you want a rally down south

Andrew has always said that he welcomes suggestions. All you need is a site that can park between 500 and 1,000 cars (and won't worry what the actual number is); has an area for camping, can provide water on site, space for the marquee, arena, trade stands, etc., is available one weekend late in June / early July; has some other form of attraction on hand, is accessible for those travelling from around the Country, and isn't too expensive.
Now, hands up everyone who can recommend a site. If it's a serious contender, then I'm sure that the Rally Committee will be glad to consider it. I've always favoured a seaside venue, but recognise that I can't actually suggest anywhere suitable.

Highclere Castle on the A34 just south of Newbury. It has all the requirements but probably costs a fortune.

i am going to field the idea of belvoir castle.
it has several huge exhibition fields, camping and the castle to look at. centrally located, 5 miles from the a1, 15 miles from the m1.

Why not The Netherlands??
We have showers, toilets and you do not have to camp on the otherside off the ringroad!
Keep on MINORing!![frame]
