hi folks, i am looking at fitting this tacho from an MGB (68-72) to my Triumph. I know it is not Morris based, but i just much prefer this forum to others!
can anybody tell me from experience, how to wire it in?
i have had a look on google, and it seems the 2 bullets go from coil, through the gauge, to the dizzy. spade next to them is 12v feed.
well, that didn't work.
so, anybody got experience fitting them?[frame][/frame]

On my MGB there is a white from the ignition switch to one bullet, the other bullet goes away to the coil, and the spade is a green to the voltage stabiliser. PM me if you want a wiring diagram.

I seem to remember from the old days of fitting a rev counter to my Mk II cortina that it mattered which one the coil went to and which one the points or it didn't work. Mine was wired direct to +12 Volts without a regulator and I know its obvious but you did ground it as well didn't you ? as this would also stop it working

I did indeed ground it. I think as it happens, i just bought a pants gauge. The seller has been good enough to swap it for another that he will test before sending out.
I will be back if i dont get it working!

Well - if the seller can test it - he obviously knows how to wire it up........
