Would you paint t axle nd leafs wit stonechip nd underseal?
No, it will look horrible!
On my convertible project, I dropped the rear axle and cleaned it all up with wire brush on grinder, followed by Phosphoric acid and more wire brushing to remove the rust, then two coats of zinc primer followed by two coats of chassis black paint.
Or, if time is shorter than money, get the axle shot blasted then powder coated in black.
