Morris Minor Owners Club

The flash/spear on the bonnet of our 65 convertible is driving me nuts as it vibrates creating a loud buzzing/zizzing noise. I cannot get the (new) retaining clip on far emogh to clamp harder to the bonnet. I would normally cut a thread and put a nut and washet on it but as it's a casting I'm concerned it would break off.

Any ideas? I have seen the type of clip that you pinch together and slide on but 'blowed' if I can find any on the net

A bit of blue tack or dum dum seal under the trim should fix it.

you can try and tap the clip on by putting a small socket over the stud and hitting it with a hammer
