Sorry to prolong this a little longer, but there has been so much said about this issue and many threads that it is quite possible that I have missed the definative reason for the ban, at one stage I think one was posted then removed before I could read it, and now I'm lost as to whether one was subsequently given. I dare venture this question at the risk of upsetting any moderator,as I've used this board for a number of years now and feel I am entitled to simply ask (a) Has a reason been given---yes or no. If yes please could a link to it be provided.

No Les a reason has not been given since the retracted one that breached the TnCs. I would not hold ones breath in anticipation of one either as it appears that this is being ignored in the hope of it going away. Each time it is mentioned it is pointed ouit that club business should be discussed in the members only area, yet even there there is no explanation.

Posting a reason (or list of reasons) for any user being removed will breach the forum T&C's (as was pointed out shortly after an explanation was given), as the reason will include the relevant complaint/s or grievances or behaviour of the particular user.
Removing a user is an extremely rare event and is not done on the whim of an single individual.
Moderators do not have the access rights to remove users.
Feel free to blame moderators or call us grumpy etc... but it's actually not the case (well, ok - anyone can have a grumpy day, but this wasn't one) I'm just limited for what I can say, as I'm not going to comment regarding an individual on the forum.
I know this doesn't answer the actual question but at least does explain why you don't see the answer on the forum.

Well I suppose it does answer my question really, that answer being 'No'.
In response to the explanation, thank you, although I think you'll agree that falling foul of the t&cs by giving a reason (if factual) is rather unusual! If, for example I was banned for swearing on the board, and someone posted 'les was banned for swearing'
this doesn't appear to breach the t&cs. Anyhow thanks for the clarification!

If its all become clear to you Les then please enlighten me - cos I havnt a clue about just why one of the most helpful members of our online community was banned - despite having asked the question on both the open and members sections. Someone could always pm me with the definative answer and I'll post it on the other place for all to read!

Bill, the thing that has become clear to me is WHY the moderators feel the reason for Jonathans expulsion can't be spelt out. Although I'm not in agreement with the thinking behind this, the EXPLANATION was at least clear.

Not only can the moderators not explain why Jonothan was banned. They also cannot explain why they cannot explain why he was banned.... and so on.

TBH I didn't understand the explanation Ray gave, either:

Ray, which T or C would be breached?
I do hope this can be cleared up.
Hugs to all involved in what is evidently a sticky wicket.

(and Ray, welcome back

)

In fairness Ray did explain why the moderators can't explain. Whether that explanation was valid is up to the individual to decide, I've taken the view that it's not a very good arguement. Whatever the reason for expulsion, I can't say that anything Jonathan posted struck me as being wrong.

its a shame that the clubs t & c`s resulted in a valuable member of the forum being banned
well i guess t&c`s must be adhered to by all the jobsworths
but not for me
