Morris Minor Owners Club

Hi all,

I have finally got my Morris Minor back after 5 years of having the whole engine done and resprayed and its looking super duper!
Does anyone have any recommendations for car valeting people the inside needs a good clean to match the brilliant bodywork thats been done on it.
We were thinking of doing it ourselves but if anyone knows of a company thats cheap and cheerful and does a good job that wld be very handy, I live in Loughton, Essex area.

You can use household products to good effect on the interior of the Minor. A good vacuum followed by some carpet shampoo product will bring the carpets up well and believe it or not, vanish soap used with a bowl of water and a nail brush brings up the vinyl trim parts very well!

Hi Lucy as reccommended by John vanish soap works really well, if they are really grubby it may take a few goes.
The easiest way to do it is to unbolt the saddle brackets that hold the front seats in place (4 bolts per seat) then you can take the seat out which makes cleaning it much simpler and you can also check things like the unframe condition and the webbing.
With both of them out this will make carpet cleaning much easier.
If its a saloon the lower part of the rear seat just pulls out its a little tight and the upper rear is held in place by 2 wing bolts that are accessed in the boot and when removed allow the seat to fall forward and can then be lifted out of their brackets.
Its quite a simple job even if my description makes it sound long winded.
