Grille Extraction

Hi, I am relatively new to the Morris Minor world, having only purchased mine last month. I am currently taking bits off to clean up and reinstate but i am stuck on how to remove the badly chipped and rusty front grille.

I have searched the archives and it would appear that the whole front panel needs to be removed to gain access? I currently have the radiator off the car and the grille is seemingly within easy reach but i do not want to start this if i am running into a world of pain later.

Can the grille be easily removed with just the radiator out or does the front panel still need to be removed?

Thanks for any guidance and tips you can offer,

Gary

I think you will find it extremely difficult to remove without taking the radiator out.

Hi Gary, welcome to the forum :D
Yes Im afraid the whole front panel needs to come off to get it out. The most difficult bit is likely to be the hockey sticks as the threads usually get destroyed when you remove the bolts. The other bolts are all just standard nuts and bolts and can be replaced easily.

Good luck!

Thanks for responses.

I already have the radiator out of the car but it sounds as though that was only part of the job :(

More fiddly than i was hoping so i think a clean up and quick spray whilst still on the car may be the way to go.

Cheers

Gary

its not to hard to take it all off but you may have to cut off a few of the bolts depending on how rusty they are :0)
