Changing boot lock barrel

Hi Guys,
I bought a boot lock barrel and have the handle off but can't work out how to remove the bell from the boot lock bar to shift the washers up to hammer out the pin!

any advice would be most awesome! as I don't want to wreck the bell pushing down the spring washer!

Thanks
Tom

thank you louise m!
so that confirms it.. you need to move the bell housing over the little tabs and then get access to the pins.. i managed to do that but thought i was stuffing up the bell.. i guess what you need to to then is 'squoosh' the bell so that it's held by the little tabs on re-assembly?

i don't know what the 2nd pin at the top is for? my barrel came out using the 1st pin..
Cheers,
Tom

Don't know about "squooshing" but yes, you just need to ensure that the tabs hold the cover on. The last posting in this thread explains it : http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f= ... ock+barrel

Below is the post that I think that the link should have taken you to:

From contributor, Jefftav

When you have the bootlock out is there 2 small studs in the chrome handle bit as this is what keep the handle in position and you access the nuts from inside the bootlid(a bit fiddly).

With the handle out and the key in the lock there is spring and a top hat shaped washer that keeps the handle mechanism in place and a small pin that holds in the lock barrel. Withdraw the pin with a pliers or use a small screw driver to push the pin out and with the key in the barrell the lock should wriggle out.

It's something like that anyway but it quite a simple job once you see how things are done just remember how it goes back together and don't drop/lose any of the small bits

I hope this helps.
