Chassis rails

Post by taffy69 »

Hi,
I have a 1956 Morris Minor (Series 2) which needs its front chassis rails replaced. I'm trying to find the parts to fix it. The workshop manual refers to these as "member assembly longitudinal left and right". I've searched a few parts websites but can't seem to find these listed.
Does anyone know what they are listed as and where I can buy them from?

You can get full chassis legs - and (front) half chassis legs. Try Bull Motif - but do search around for best price. It's quite a job to replace these legs!

It's one small personal hell to replace even a single leg -- I should know -- I'm deep in the middle of doing it right now! The old leg is off, the new one goes on hopefully tomorrow...but it took all day to get the old one off and I fear it'll be another day (or two) to get the new on...

Not to discourage you. It's hard, yes, but satisfying (particularly when things go back on the car!!!). Can easily be done by you and a friend, or, for a harder job, just yourself.
The way to a man's heart may be making food, but the way to my heart is buying me car parts!
