whether it is cheap or expensive - unless it has passed a reasonable rating standard then it's probably not worth using.

Mobil 1 5/30 ESP now £32 in Asda for 5 litres. Need this for the VW Golf Diesel - meets VW 507. spec.
Halfrauds £49.99 on special for £39.99
It certainly pays to shop around.
I do appox 7,000 - 8,000 miles ayear in my Moggy, used every day, and change all the oils and service parts twice a year and never really have any problems with using the cheapo oil.
Plenty left BM - just bought one!
Maybe it's just the mean Scotsman in me!

It's perfectly satisfactory for an A series engine - just don't expect it to last 'for ever'.

Called up a couple of big asdsars. Only seem to have semi synth and diesel (good for cleaning and unseizing), but no mineral oil. Going to try wilko. Might treat her to something better if she behaves and treat this as a flushing oil.
