Im Just about to do the last of the welding today (for a few years anyway) and was wondering what you guys recomend to paint/sparay on the underside ect to give the best protection.

I am planning to redoxide the underside but should i put seamsealer on all the welds ect?.
after that black smoothrite. although should i use stone chip before the smoothrite ?
then what to put on top uderseal / waxoyl

is there any differnce between black and clear waxoyl? i seem to remember that the clear is better for in box sections but cant find that anywhere now.

from reading previous posts there dosnt seem to be a set way.

the car not concours so im not fussed about originality and its black anyway so it wont notice.

Anyway Cheers for the help and advice given on this board .Hopefully now ive got myself a job ill be able to get the finnishing toches and get it on the road before the summer.

flood the seams with red oxide first, then seam sealer.
do know about mixing stone chip with smothrite. i would chose one or the other.
i like inner wings that are painted the colour of the car.
underseal and stone chip can allow water to get between it and the metal work and stay there untill the metal rusts. think about where the stones will hit the underbody, and areas that will not take such a heavy bombardment.
