So, as some of you know I'm involved in a court case against a company who restore minors. The court have ordered that we have a joint independent assessment of the vehicle based on the photographs and retained panels (I believe they can discuss the restoration with Jonathon, but must bear in mind he has a 'conflict of interest').
Has anyone got any suggestions? Ideally for people with classic experience who aren't major competitors to, say, largish Minor Restoration companies. I'm going to ring the MMOC after lunch, and Prac. Classics, but if anyone's got any other suggestions, that'd be great.

What about asking a Tutor from a classic car restoration course?? These guys usually have years in the industry behind them and really know how to do a proper job.
May be difficult to contact on at the moment as it is the summer holidays.
Judging by the standard of work I have seen done by the staff of a well known classic car magazine, I would avoid asking them anything at all!!!
Another idea, if you are a member of the RAC or AA you might be able to make use of their technical inspectors and motoring legal services.

Having see Pratical Classic stuff - best steer clear - and anyway they may be influenced by advertising revenue from the Co concerned. I would go with the suggestion above - AA or RAC. Are you a member of either ??

Thanks for the suggestions folks. That's a good couple of places for me to talk to... Hopefully I'll get a bit of a chance to do it today (I'm at interviews today and tomorrow, which keeps me a bit tied up :-/ (not literally!)).

I would also recommend AA or RAC. Some years ago I used them for an independent assessment on a new Rover which I felt was sub standard. Best thing I could have ever done.
