This is my wifes 1965 convertible. She has owned it for 12 years ish.

It was taken off the road 10 years ago after it failed it's MOT and given to a coleague of hers, who was supposedly experienced with Minors, to patch it to get it through the test and to fit telescopic dampers.

Anyway skip on 6 years and the car was still on his driveway open to the elements and becoming more rotten by the day!

So I hired a trailer and brought it home and into my garage where it has stood ever since without me touching it!

I've done a little welding in the past but not much and so the prospect of doing all this myself is a bit daunting. If there is anyone with experience with Minors who lives near WIgan you are welcome to come and give me some pointers.

Just taken some more photos of the door shut lines. These are the things that are worrying me the most! They are an absolute contry mile out! On the drivers door especially the profile of the door seems to be different to the rear wing.

Anyhow still got some clearing up to do so that I've got more room. Then I'll start stripping the interior of the car and remove the engine & gearbox.

Yes, I'd give you a few hints and tips in person if you did not live so far away!!

It is a shame that somebody in the cars past went to the trouble of fitting a new boot floor/ outer panel then did not paint it properly and left it to rot!!! looks like that will need cutting out and re-doing again.

AS for the drivers side door, I'm not sure even I would attempt that one. Might be better getting a replacement door for that side. First job is to get the wings off and see what the inner wings/ a pillars are like. If the sills are still strong then the poor door gap may be due to rotten a pillars.

By any chance do you know which county the car was first registered in. Mine is KPC 994C and was purchased new in Aldershot but the first owner lived in Essex. As I am from NI, just wondered does the PC mean the county
