The 'chrome' or 'stainless' ones are often next to useless.

There needs to be some pressure from the arms.
Otherwise whatever you fit is mostly waving around in front of the screen.

A small amount of bending the arm to accommodate tired arm springs is OK, but if they are knackered no amount of bending will fix them.

But also the stainless/chrome ones seem to be inflexible - and the rubber blade is wrong in some way. I have in the past fitted a standard rubber blade into a stainless frame and had some success!

i have genuine lucas arms on mine, and the repro stainless blades do not work properly
they are not flexible enough as bm says
you need to scource some flat blades and these work supberbly

If you fit adjustable arms and stagger them slightly you can fit 12 in blades and greatly reduce the unswept triangle in the middle of the screen
