Facet fuel pump

My minor is fitted with a Facet electric fuel pump which ticks all the time that the ignition is turned on. Is this normal? I believe the standard pump stops ticking after it's built up pressure, should the Facet pump do the same?
Thanks.
Neil.

No idea- but I rather suspect they tick all the time. Someone will know for sure!

Yes its normal for a facet pump to run constantly. also do you have a pressure regulator as well as some of the facet pumps can run at quite a high pressure

No, there's no pressure regulator it runs a pipe straight to the carb.
Will it be doing any harm?

What pressure does it deliver?
I think the carb is expecting about 2psi.

If its a higher pressure pump it could overwhelm the float jet & cause mixture irregularities or flood the engine in extreme cases. My MG has a facet pump which runs at about 8psi and is reduced with a regulator to about 1.5-2psi for the Weber DCOE on it as they can be sensitive to pressure, more so than an SU

I've absolutely no idea what pressure it runs at, it was on the car when I got it.
Is the delivery pressure marked on the pump anywhere?

If it's on the car and not giving any problems - don't lose sleep over it!
