Being of a curious nature, I was wondering how many of you here on the forum are also MMOC members.

I think you should add another button (titled ex-member - now forum only) because the events of the last months have seriously made me question what I actually get from the club, and to be honest I think I will be saving my money come renual time.

Banning of a certain very knowledgable member from the forum for basically speaking the truth. Lots of people are moving over to the other forum probably get this post locked locked if I post a link.
What was the decision by the way? as I still have had no official responce from the club.

nope - the 'other' forum (knowing which one you mean - there are actually a few) has had links on this site since the dawn of its existance and co-exists without any issues.

Leyther8008 - have you had an official response yet?

Curious. I'm a paid-up member of the MMOC but can't access the members only part of this site. Any ideas?

Hmm , interesting.. I wonder why that is ?
It was stated by moderators that there would be a reply "this week" ... but that was a couple of weeks ago now and there has been nothing announced in the "Members section" .
Here's some interesting stats re this poll.
Statistics
Total posts 245525 • Total topics 21675 • Total members 7269
7269 members less the 20 that are forum only equals 7249 members.
65 members have voted - therefore that equals 0.897% of membership
20 forumites have voted - therefore that equals 100% ...

interesting

How odd. Surely they can't have received your email. Perhaps worth re-sending it?

Well the Committee can't possibly send an acknowledgement to every message posted on the messageboard. There is however a forum - "Questions for the Committee" - which members can use to submit their questions so if you have a specific question that you wish to ask please use the "Questions for the Committee" forum leyther8008.

Can you post a link to the particular post that you are referring to Frosty as I've done a search and can't find any post from a moderator containing those comments.
As for statistics, the total number of members quoted is all those who have registered on the site since the messageboard came into existance over 8 years ago. There are a much smaller number of members who are actually 'active' on the site at any one time eg visit and post regularly. A poll can never be entirely accurate as it is dependant on those who actually wish to respond to it but what it does show is that over three quarters of the 'active' members who responded are also Club members. A poll last year provided the same result. As for the messageboard, it continues to attract more new members to the Club than via any other means, and the numbers registering as messageboard members are remaining steady eg last week 38 new members joined and 43 joined the week before.

Happy to oblige

As you said Louise, it is all too easy for people to jump to conclusions, so maybe an official response would help clarify the matter.
Also, if you like, I could start another thread regarding this matter, so that it is not hijacking Rob's poll thread.
What do you think?

Yes, as you clearly wish to discuss club business rather than anything relating to Rob's poll or leyther8008's query please start another thread in the members area if you wish.

Ok , thanks Louise for the permission.

You don't need 'permission'. It's clearly stated that club business should only be discussed in the members area - it's been in the T&C's for months now. However I see that you are now asking other members to post messages there and to copy the responses to you so are you having trouble logging in? Try clicking on the "confirm your membership here" link and entering the details requested.
