After 107 posts on the JLH thread one Mention of John Frye and the thread is locked along with any other open comment on the subject. Are we now being moderated by an offshoot of the KGB?
Suppose you will lock or remove this one as well
Disgusted

Seems to be the way now Bill - no free speech.

It can be discussed on the members section - but as there are quite a few not rejoining (myself included), it may be rather quiet.

There is no "JLH" topic in the members section

I tried to log in to the members section but was advised I that I could not view that section. I think my membership expires at the
end of the month but since I am not renewing anyway, I am not going to create a fuss. Clearly Lady Locker hasn't seen this thread yet

As the new Minor Matters has come out did you use the new password from there. This might be the reason for you not being able to get access to the Member's Area of the site.

I have just returned from a long absence from this forum and frankly am shocked at the way a great leading light in the Morris Minor scene has been treated. We all need advice from time to time from professionals and if this is not available for whatever reason many owners/cars will suffer as a result. A sad day for the MMOC.

It is indeed shocking LD - but Jon is still present and very welcome on the other forum. Contact him there if you need him!

I refer you to a message posted in the JLH thread by pskipper which seems to have been overlooked:
I'd like to point out that the mod's are not your enemy. Yes there are terms and conditions, in fact...."Club business must only be discussed in the Members Only Area" is one of them, the exclusion from the board by committee decision could be seen as club business! The mod's have chosen to allow a free discussion. So the mod's could have wiped this thread and kept on wiping it fully within the t&c without anyone ever knowing! In the meantime perhaps rather than getting irate and argumentative we should look at the issues this has raised and present them in a calm and collected and positive way to the club/committee.
Pskipper is right, and any discussions regarding Club business should be posted in the members area. This is not something new - the members forum has been in existence since March. The JLH thread was kept open for 7 days, and this allowed non Club members to post their comments. Unfortunately a number of comments, from both members and non members, were abusive and threatening towards the Club and it’s officials. A number of comments were also made with regards to the site T&C’s being ‘draconian’ and those who held that view were invited to post in the members area details of the particular T&C’s that they found ‘draconian’ and to provide suggestions as to alternatives. To date, just one suggestion has been made. It appears that a small number of people here are either unable or unwilling to provide any sensible suggestions or constructive comments and would instead prefer to persist in posting comments which are unhelpful and rude and are spoiling the enjoyment of the site for the majority of others.
Is it really so difficult to post constructive comments and suggestions about this matter in the members area? (log on via the "confirm your membership here" link) If you wish to persist in hurling insults and threats at the mods or other Club officials please do so via pm. Alternatively there are other sites where such views can be expressed if you wish, although I do find it strange that some of you are saying one thing in public and expressing different views via pm.
Finally, thank you to those who have sent words of support, it is appreciated, and hopefully you can continue to enjoy the benefits that this site has to offer. I hope that the actions of a small minority do not deter you from continuing to visit here.
If you wish to discuss the comments of this post further please contact me via pm.
Regards,
Louise
