Hi all.
I've got a 1968 2 door saloon which has body colour painted door tops, my friend has a 1967 2 door saloon the same colour (old english white) and his has stainless door tops & quaterlight frames.
He reckons mine should be stainless & have been painted over but I thought the 2 doors were originally painted & the stainless ones were robbed from a traveller.
Who's right??

Your correct 2 door saloons should have painted ones, only very early mms 2 door saloons had stainless. 4 doors and travellers had stainless as well.

i have a 1969 tourer with stainless steel window trim and used to have a two door 1968 model with painted frames and i also owned a 1956 split screen four door model which had painted fames,i was always led to believe that its a "deluxe"thing that is to say that stainless steel frames where only available on "deluxe models" only but i stand corrected :D
