Morris Minor Owners Club

can anybody help? my 1955 morris minor has no spark at the points,
however there is life at the low tension lead but it is not getting sufficient power to the points, can anybody please give me a few tips as i am going mad with this one.
also is there supposed to be a carbon washer at both ends of the baseplate as well as the tophat.

No carbon washer that I know of..... Did this happen suddenly - car just stopped - or have you been doing some 'maintenance' ? Can only suggest fitting a new set of points + new condenser + new rotor arm and see if any of that helps. There is also the little 'low tension wire' in tyhe dizzy - someone recently on here had problems with that - they do tend to become fragile after _ 10 years or so - may be worth replacing that too.
