new tyres are the order of the day, but do i head down the road of inner tubes or not?

i like them, but i would like others opinions please

if someone lets your tyres down on tubeless tyres and the seal breaks your stumped if on the other hand like what happened to me many years ago out in the wilds and in the early hours of the morning i found someone for reasons only known to themselves,let my then moggies tyres down i had tubes in them so i knocked up the nearest household and disgruntedly[if theres such a word] lent me a footpump it took a long time and effort but i was back on the road without having to call a breakdown truck food for thought?

Tubeless is fine. Don't worry about the tyres being 'let down' - even if that does happen - the beads will likely hang on to the rims anyway.

This is a continuing discussion. Argument 1 says that the rims were designed for tubes and do not have the lip to hold tubeless tyres in place. Argument 2 says that modern tyres are made to be tubeless and do not have the same smooth internal profile that is found on a tubed tyre. This therefore leads to wear and punctures.

Having tried both with and without tubes, my own view is tubeless every time. In thirty years of driving Minors at up to 18,000mile per annum, I have never had a tubeless tyre pop off a rim - and when changing tyres, the fitters still have to exert a fair bit of effort to break the seal! Conversely, I have had three tubes fail due to being caught by the internal parts of the tyre.

The one exception is where the rim will not hold air. Under these circumstances you have to use a tube, but better would be to replace the rim.

i,m inclined to agree with the both above just passing on my experience as bad luck follows me closer than my shadow so i,m sure if it happened to me with tubeless my seals would break or am i being too paranoid

Well - you can always have fun doing the propane trick to get them back on the rims............

pass i think i,ll leave that trick to the icelandic,s i have a healthy repect for my eyebrows

Last time they tried it - they set fire to a mountain..............caused all sorts of air traffic chaos - for no good reason!
