Hi I have just started to put the front suspension back on my project after leaving it all winter, the question I have is when I refit the trunions how far do I wind them on to the king pin
thanks
Tony

I normally wind them all the way up then back a turn.

As far as they will go and point in the right direction....

As Marky B, I sqirt in a blob of grease into the trunnion first. Check for play on the trunnions, do not fit them if you can detect any wobble or free play.

Back off one turn - to be sure they can freely rotate. If they are then 'slack' on the thread - they need renewing - possibly (actually - probably!) also a new king pin.

When you push the fulcrum pin through the trunnion, it should be centred in the grove on the kingpin.

Pack the trunnions with grease before you wind them on

Maybe rinse them out first as well. The last ones I fitted were full of swarf.

No swarf in this one;[frame]

[/frame]
No thread either

.
Take nothing for granted.
Replaced, no problem, except not until I'd returned this one.
No names, no pack drill.
