flasher relays

i have recently bought a new loom from east sussex minors, and it is made for the 8 way relay- i did some research on the price of these relays today- and was horrified! the dodgy loom in my car at the moment is fitted with the small cylinderical flasher unit- is there anyway to convert, or should i contact ESM, and try and arrange an exchange.
for reference my car is a series 2, with a 1098 engine. it is fitted with the later sidelight/flashers on the front, and the large late rear lights- the problem i had when ordering is that my car is all screw connectors (except the engine) and the late ones are lucar spade connectors.

thanks in advance

It's up to you - you can always cut off the spades...........

i think i will send an email to ESM and see if they will exchange it- i think i should really treat my car as a 1098 thousand, rather than a series 2- i have the '61-'62 with relay flashers loom, and actually could do with the '64 seperate flasher loom-unfortuneatly it is opened and this is how i realised the problem!

I think so too - I'm sure they will oblige - but what's wrong with the old loom anyway ?

ESM have been good about exchanging things when I've accidentally ordered the wrong part in the past.

If you state what connections you have on your car then possibly they can supply a loom to fit, there are companies who will supply a custom made loom. Otherwise you will get a loom appropriate to the car model /year.
I am not too familiar with the relay wiring but with reference to diagrams N38 and N44 it should be possible to adapt the wiring to suit
