1962 2 door, hasn't moved for 25 years.

It was my brother's car when he died nearly 30 years ago. My sister ran it for 3 or 4 years then put it away in a carport.
It will be a labour of love. I am doing the work and my sister is paying for the parts. Wish me luck![frame]Image[/frame]

Thanks for the welcome. My next question was going to be "what colour green is it?" but Dryad has answered it already!

When was your car registered, as Almond green was introduced in October '61. It's not too clear from the photo but does it have beige seats?

LouiseM - seats are green edging with a grey seat squab and back
Dryad - thanks, my sister said it was 61 but just checked myself, July 62 sure enough
bmcecosse - just hope we still have that reg, it was laid up before SORN came in, my sister is looking into it.

Still showing on the DVLA website as an unlicensed car. Don't know if that helps or even has any official significance

The vehicle details for 347 RYA are:

Date of Liability 01 08 1990
Date of First Registration 20 07 1962
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 948CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour GREEN
Vehicle Type Approval
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £68.75
12 Months Rate £125.00

Looks in better nick than my car that I use every day

They say the camera doesn't lie. Unfortunately it is in a sad state. Stinks inside because it had rats nesting in it. They got in the hole behind the battery. And compression test was 60,60,0,60 so I am rebuilding the engine at the moment. And all the brakes are locked on. Still, I love a challenge!

Yes, I will try! The engine is looking good with the fresh green paint. Just waiting for the rings, shells, etc to start re-assembling.
