is my engine goldsealed

hi there i wondered if my engine is a gold seal as there is alot of gold under the green engine paint and this is not the one i painted gold either the engine number is 10 m-a-u-h 327510

The one I have has a plate on the side of the engine stating it's a gold seal.

On BMC a-series gold seal engines the original code was removed and the engine was given a new code beginning 8G, followed by a series of numbers relating to the rebore / regrind sizes and job number. Your engine has the code 10MA which relates to a standard 1098cc engine, not a gold seal unit.

how can u tell if a gearbox is gold seal i baught a second hand one but its painted gold or did someone just do this

well the block is gold and it had a sticker on till it came of with water but all the block is gold apart from the haed and rocker cover

As Louise says - it would have a spare part number - not the original number. it's only paint - don't get too excited about it!
