my moggie has been sat in a field for a few years (5 ish) i am told, but on the whole is in pretty good nick.

but the floor is rusted to hell and is looking pretty fred flintstone! extensive use of a hammer (and that small...) produced many many holes along the edge.

now, this is a joint project with a friend of mine who is in the motor trade and owns a small used dealership. so labour is pretty much free. we have seen floor panels on line for about £18 plus vat each. what we want to know is..

A. will joining the club (which seems a good idea anyway and i plan to) get us the floor panels much cheaper

B. are there any guides to welding a new floor on i can print out

C. can anyone recomend a supplier of the floor panels ideally in ilkeston/derby/notts area?

all the elctrics are fine and it stops in a straight line. the body is pretty good for its age and the engine runs fine and strong. so it is worth saving we feel!

advice would be most welcome

Hi & Welcome. I hope you enjoy restoring your Morris Minor. Most suppliers will sell you floor panels and some might give you discount for being a club member but in my experience it depends on how much you are spending as to whether they give discount not the fact you are a MMOC member. I don't know of a suppliet in your area but there are several reputable parts suppliers - Bull Motiff, East Sussex Minors(ESM), MMC Birmingham, Tom Roy etc.... just google the names and you will find them and with most you can shop on line.

In the wanted section post up what parts you need.

I don't think there is a guide to floor replacement on this site but post up questions and someone will always be able to answer as most have been there and worn the t-shirt.

Hope this helps and post up some pics as we like to see what you are talking to us about.

Floor does look pretty rotten........ And don't jack it under the sill/floor like that! Only jack under the rear axle - and at the front, under the 'chassis' legs - with a timber load spreader.
