Is there a nack to putting new bushes into the rod at the bottom of the suspension arms that goes through the chassis leg?
(its where the fulcrum pin goes through a bolt with an eye in it)
Im having real trouble trying to get them in!
Thanks
Tom

Sorry i meant to say that i cant get the fulcrum pin and bushes in.
The bushes go in fine on there own but the fulcrum pin will not.

Hence the need for lubricant!

Have you replaced the pin?
I'd suggest just fitting the back bush, then replace torsion bar and eye bolt onto the car.
Then you can use G clamps and/or beating with a rubber mallet and large socket to get the front bush in.
Use the front part of the suspension leg as a press to squeeze the front bush in.
Just be sure that the fulcrum pin is lined up with the hole in the front arm.
In the first instance when a couple of threads of the pin are showing put the nut on without the washer and help the process along.
Once the bush is in place take the nut off and refit the washer.
Lubrication will help the whole thing along.

Well done!
I find that every job I do on my car makes it more "mine" i.e. my own work. that I'm proud of.
