found it..[frame]Image[/frame]

I have never had a problem with getting a socket (of the correct size) on the nut as the horn push spring compresses easily.

the other option liked by some is to use a hammer and chisel (no comment)

Most of these nuts show signs of the chisel having been applied in the past. Just needs a smart tap  When you do get it loose - don't take it right off until you have tugged the wheel loose on the splines. Otherwise - the wheel tends to jump up and smack you in the face....... Why are you taking it off ??????

lol nice can of worms, but how is wanting it off opening a can of worms :o

I need to get it off so I can sort out my indicators as the right turn does not self cancel.

wanting it off is not the can of worms it is the method..

the correct size socket and do the job properly
or
just take a hammer and chisel to the job and botch it

bugger I bit!

on a more serious note roys advice on not taking the nut all the way off until the wheel is lose is a very sound piece of advice

Dare I even mention the 34mm thin walled 1/2" drive socket?

But to sort out the indicators - just take the cowl off and leave the wheel on!

On mine the cowl is one piece and to get at the indicators I had to remove the steering wheel. That was the reason I bought the 34mm Proxxon socket-it fits perfectly.

It's only a sharp tap - the nut isn't usually on very tight. Have you looked at it ? Does it bear any scars already??

1 5/16" AF socket = 33.33mm. Many use 34 mm socket.

Or, just to complete the picture, 3/4 Whitworth.
