Stuck door

Hello,
Yesterday the driver's side door wouldn't stay shut so I adjusted the locating pin which helped a bit but wasn't perfect. Today I adjusted the pin again but now I'm unable to open it!
Even laying across the front seats and kicking the door from the inside won't budge it. I've sprayed grease down the gap and have tried wriggling it about but it's still stuck fast.
I wouldn't mind too much but I have had to leave the passenger door unlocked so I can get in.
Does anyone have any suggestions short of an "Italian job" door removal?

have you tried it with the internal handle as well, as this aill give a bit more throw of the latch than the outside one

I have indeed.
I think I may need to use a hammer and a block of wood and give it a good belt from the inside.
At least it will make me feel a bit better if nothing else.
What a way to use my 100th post.

Hi there,
Are you sure it's not the lock ???

Good thinking, but it's not the lock.

I just wasn't kicking hard enough!
Somehow the locating pin had got itself jammed in the hole.

I had the same problem after adjusting the chrome hole. No amount of hitting the door would open it it so I took the door trim off, and the bottom part of the door surround trim (rear near the B pillar). Then you can just see the chrome 'bullet' protruding from the door through the hole. I got a drift and hit the protruding bit a couple of times and bingo. beware of this problem when trying to adjust morris minor door fit. Mine still stands a bit 3-4mm proud but I am going to live with it!

14 years may well be a record! I use these threads as an invaluable resource when stuck and I suspect others do too - so I think it's still worth updating them for posterity!
