Hi guys
Can anyone tell me how to remove the internal locking lever so that I can get the door handle off to spray the door. We managed it on the drivers door, but I don't know how to get the lever off on the passenger side.

I've found the illustration in the manual to help with this, not sure how easy the clip is to get to but I'm sure we'll do it.[frame]

It doesn't take much to remove the spring clip - now that you know it's there

Cheers Pete.
Took some fiddling but it's off now.

I too struggled to remove the locking lever and found this post which gave me a clue.
Mine didn't have a split pin or P Clip holding it in.
There is a spring loaded pin on the underside which you need to press in with a flat blade screwdriver before pulling the locking lever out.

Hope someone can help.
I’ve also got a lock lever issue. I wish to remove the lock but underneath there is no split pin and no-way I can see of removing the lever. Read most of the posts and none of them seem applicable. Any guidance gratefully received. I’ve attached a pic
Many thanks in advance

How did you manage to get such a great pic inside the door? The slot that the hooked pin goes in is visible next to the square shaft. If indeed the pins isnt there it will just be of giving the inside locking handle a good pull. Its probably slightly corroded in.Once thats off the assembly can be wriggled out .

Hi Mick
Thanks for your reply. The slot (which I also thought was for the split pin), has a lug, for want of a better term, that turns with the lock lever. If you look carefully at the pic, you can just make it out at the top end of the slot. The lever turns through the required 90 degrees easily enough but that lug is the thing preventing it from being removed. I’m stumped.

Not stumped any more. That thing I thought was a lug turns out to be spring loaded, so by pushing it in, it allows the lever to be removed. Until the next problem . . .
