hello all, my first ever post so apologies for any errors. i have 2 sorned moggies just sat on my drive, 1959 & 1966 & i have to sell one, so i'm probably going to get rid of the 1966 blue 4 door as it's rusty on the crossmember & i can't do it myself. should i break it for spares or should i sell it complete? i ask because i'm unsure if there would be much demand for parts regarding saloons but if demand meant it went by end of the year & it kept a few more moggys on the road by breaking it then i'm reasonably happy to do that. also, as a non club member, where should i advertise please? many thanks for any feedback & advice. ray in ferndown.

you can post in the sale section of this forum.
Ideally sell as full car resto project, plenty of photos expecially of the big work areas would help.
Its nice to see cars being kept on the road rather then broken up.

It's a lot of hassle to 'break' the car - you will left with many low value parts. Best to sell it complete - crossmember replacement doesn't seem to scare some folks! Post up some pics - and an idea of what you want for the car!

Yes, I agree. Sell the car whole as a project.
Crossmember replacement- may just be the ends and is normal Minor restoration work.
What is the rest of the car like? Some pictures please of the underside. And whereabouts in the country are you? Where is Ferndown?

things like very good condition doors can fetch a few hundred pounds
interiors if in good condition
engine gearbox if in good running condition
if the car is really bad then it will ot be worth a lot and sometimes may be given away free on here
i would look at things like doors, bootlid, interior , engine gearbox, axle and diff and if these are in good condition will sell well

In my experience if the car is rusty then the panels (doors, bootlid, wings etc) will be too rusty and not saleable.
If the crossmember is the only rust it will be a shame to break another car when it could have been saved and put back on the road.

There are always people after a complete car to renovate and yours sounds like a straightforward project. With so many new parts available now is there such a big demand for used bits any more? You would sell the engine and box easily enough but perhaps not much else and all you can do then is give whats left to the tat man.
Any photos of it? Someones bound to be interested in it.

good second hand parts are allways sellable, if bmc stuff
and are better than the repro stuff

thank you so much for the replies & advice etc. i would love my cars to stay on the road so i am really pleased that there may be interest from someone to restore & keep on the road.
i will look at digging around with a wire brush & taking a few pics & i shall try to upload (or download?) the pics to this site sometime soon.
thanks again guys (&gals?)
