What Fuel 1098 1968Minor

Post by midnat »

Hi
I am new, and just got my first Morris Minor. Do they run on normal 4x Petrol?
May be daft question, but would like to know.
Looking for Winter Breathable waterproof Car Cover, anyone recommend one?
Many Thanks
Midnat

You haven't got much choice of fuel, diesel, unleaded or super unleaded. It is certainly not diesel and super would be wasted which leaves ordinary unleaded. If you have an unleaded head then ok, but some people think that unless you are flogging the nuts off the car up and down the motorway every day then the standard engine will be ok. I reckon that if you are going to fit an unleaded head then you may as well knacker the present head first.
There are adverts in the magazine for car covers.

if the car does not have an unleaded head add some casterol valve master plus when you fill up the car.the bottle has a callibrated part at the top you fill the top to corrispond with the litres of fuel you have put in the car .some people on here will say waste of money, but for your own reasurance i would say add it to the fuel .

The ONLY additive that contains lead - is Tetra-boost, otherwise - waste of time/money. If the car is just for normal light use , don't add anything. DO set exhaust valve gaps to 15 thou - and check/reset every 3000 miles.

Thank you for all the replies.
Got it sorted. Only need to find photo or diagram of how to fit Bag Cover to my hood. Have seen the one reply on hear, but is not to much help? So if any kind person could throw more light on it, I know a couple of people who would be very grateful.

Again Many Thanks

Kind Regards
Paul
