Is there any way you can stiffen up the quartlights so they are less susceptible to blowing shut at high speeds?

I believe mine have been left in a garage for a few years and never ever WD40'd...

Use a big Philips screwdriver on the big Philips screw at the bottom. That tensions them up. They should stay open at speeds reached by a normal Morris Minor

and they should have thin springy washers behind the screws to stop the paintwork chipping

Tried to tighten mine today, they blow shut at about 50mph but the screws wouldn't go any tighter. Don't really find it a problem though.
