The closing mechanism of the RHS Traveller door has 2 rods which locate into rubber blocks at the top & bottom.
What are these locator blocks called & does anyone know who stocks them. My top one is a bit worn & inclined to let the door rattle.

Hmmm - mine (and any other Trav I have seen) only has the one steady bracket - in the middle of the door!! Do you have a picture ????? Or - are you meaning the vertical locking rods attached to the handle ? Mine go into steel plates - not rubber blocks - if that's what you mean ?

I THINK, having looked at Charles Wares catalogue, that they may be called "Socket, locking rods" upper & lower.They are on the frame at the top & bottom of the rear RH door.
Don't think that I described them very well on my OP.
They appear to be rubber blocks which are held in place by metal U shaped plates.
As I said, top one is somewhat worn & the upper locking rod does not really sit very tight.

Wares catalogue shows them with no price, which, I take to mean is, they do not have any,

I don't think you can buy these blocks new (we were advised to keep my old ones when refitting the new wood) What might be missing are the "shims" I don't know whether you can buy these new or have to make them. They fit around the rods and hold then taught in the block to stop the rattling! I haven't got a camera handy, but perhaps someone can post a photo.

I'm not sure which bit you mean, Lou. On mine the ends of the rods go straight into the sockets.

Just been out for a look. On mine there are the guides screwed to the door (right hand door) through which the rods go. The "shim" is a right angled thin piece of metal which fits between the rod and the guide and stops the rod vibrating when the car is moving. I'll see if I can get JR to photo it when he gets home. I know this is original, but some cars won't have them (lost in resto etc)? However they are v. simple - I'm certain they could be home made cheaply out of thin metal.

Just been & had a closer look,
The bottom one still has the bush
The top one has lost it's metal bush, which presumably allows slight movement of the door. At the mo' I have a piece of foam rubber in between the rod & the rod end locater, but it won't last long.
I'm surprised that these items do not seem to be available.

These are amongst the few parts that are not available. (Perhaps people don't request them as they don't know they should be there) = no reproduction. If you have one at least you now know what I mean. Thin metal and tin snips? They do stop the rattle.

thanks for the suggestion. I will have a go at making something like your idea.

Since the bush on the bottom one is tapered, I could try to make a similar replacement for the top. Maybe out of copper tube, flared at one end then glued into the rubber block. If it was a good fit over the tip of the rod it should work...maybe.

I think Lou is talking about the guides that fix to the door, rather than the sockets as shown in my photos.

Yes as I have said these shims fit between the guide (through which the rod fits) and the door, not lower down where the rod goes into the floor/top of the door. The rattle is caused by screws which hold the guide to the rear door coming into contact with the rod - hence the need for the shims.
