New member introduction

Hi, thought i would just introduce myself. I've loved the look of the minor for some time now and have always said one day I'll own one, as my surname is Morris as well. I'm completely new to the Morris, I've worked on a Beetle before and have basic welding skills, I also have a engineering workshop so that will come in handy. I live in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. I have started to see a few minors around town lately, so if any of you are on here. Be nice to join you on the local roads soon. I've just had a old 4 door 1000 fall into my lap. Not 100% sure of the year but it has a dateless plate, and semaphores. I don't have a V5 for it though so any advice on how to get one would be handy. I'm not sure on the construction of them but the body seems pretty solid, all doors and pillars are in good nick. The problems well be with the floor. The front doesn't look to bad but the rear foot wells have some holes in them.
I'll put some more pics up when i collect it but this is how its looking now.

Hi Jon. You need to send a V62 form to the DVLA with a payment of £25. They will then write to the last known owner of the vehicle to ask if it has been stolen. If they don't receive a reply after a certain amount of time they will issue you with a new V5C. Here's a PDF version of the V62 form that you can print out yourself (or you should be able to get one from the post office).

Looking at the back seat Ser II shape and pattern (well what I can see + the semaphores) I'd guess Aug/Sept/October 1956 This was the first run of the full screens (not split) but some bodyshells still left over with the semaphores.

Thanks, yeah it does seem original. I'd much rather have a rotten original, than one that someones bodged previously.

If it has a number plate you can enter it on the DVLA website and possibly get the date of registration.

Thank you, that's a great tool. Date of first reg is 10/01/58. I'm really looking forward to picking it up now.
